Activ8 is a health and well being programme specifically designed to help every school child regardless of abillty/disabilty be more active, as well as fulfilling part of the Governments’ plan for combating childhood obesity;

"The UK Chief Medical Officers’ recommend that all children and young people should engage in moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity for at least 60 minutes every day. At least 30 of these minutes should be delivered in school every day through active break times, PE, extra-curricular clubs, active lessons, or other sport and physical activity events, with the remaining 30 minutes supported by parents and carers outside of school time.

Being a fully inclusive, fun, healthy programme, Activ8 allows every pupil to take part at their own pace and set their own targets and also provides fully measurable 'real time' data that can be accessed by teachers and parents at the click of a button.

Activ8 has also been designed in such a way that it provides an educational platform as well.

Pupils will get to 'virtually' travel across the world in a number of walks and challenges that provide insights into every place and landmark they are visiting. These walks and challenges have been designed around the content covered by National Curriculum, but can also be fully tailored to suit any area of world study. The pupils can also take part in walks or challenges that have been completed by famous explorers or modern day hero's.

The pupils, parents and teachers can quickly and easily look at the progress of the school/class against these walks/challenges via the online Activ8 portal which provides a safe area for this data to be accessed.

Best of all, the pupils are rewarded when they reached certain milestones with certificates that can be downloaded and/or printed from the online portal. They are also able to keep track of their progress with a sticker wall chart in their classrooms.

Self Operated - Once the training has been completed, every teacher and school can continue running the Activ8 programme without the need for the Activ8 staff to be involved.

Of course the Activ8 team will make regular drop ins on each school to provide support and to check on the progress of each class. The programme is so simple to use that we encourage the pupils to take on some of the responsibility of inputting the data and assisting with the set up and operation of the programme.

The Activ8 programme is so versatile that it can also be used as a school fundraiser to provide vital funds for your school and involving the whole school community.
